WOW!! Atif Aslam LIVE in concert was the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day. Thousands of adoring Atif Aslam fans gathered to catch their much-loved singing sensation perform live in concert for the first time in South Africa. The suave and sophisticated Atif Aslam began his performance of the evening with the spellbinding Woh Lamhe (Zeher) followed by a humble As-salamu alaykum to all his adoring fans. He is the voice behind Bollywood’s most loved modern-day ballads with an enchanting array of music behind his name. Atif Aslam is now a brand both well-known and respected in Indian music both in India and Pakistan. He was declared the most popular artist on Saavn in 2013. Atif is the youngest recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, a Pakistani civilian decoration.
Atif Aslam alongside his terrifically gifted musicians captivated audiences of all ages with eternal classics such as Jab koi Baat Bigad Jaaye, Kya Hua Tera Vaada, Allah Hoo and his most loved incredible discography of music. Atif Aslam had the crowd singing along to his hit songs and the classics of yesteryear cinema. Atif performed tracks like the melodious Piya O Re Piya (Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya), romantic Pehli Nazar Mein (Race), Bakhuda Tumhi Ho (Kismat Konnection) , groovy Tere Liye (Prince) and the soulfully captivating Hona Tha Pyaar (Bol), Tera Hone Laga Hoon and Jeena Jeena (Badlapur) with many other tracks. The show finale was the treasured contemporary classic Tu Jaane Naa (Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani). While in conversation with patrons at the show they were all amazed and thrilled by Atif Aslam’s confidence, stage presence and singing.
The evening was compered by the graceful Zakia Ahmed Siddiqi and the local dancers of Sherese Persad Dance Academy entertained audiences. We at the Bollywood Tempest would like to congratulate Osman Osman & Shaaista Khan Osman of Blu Blood SA who brought us Bollywood’s biggest hit-maker Atif Aslam to South Africa and afforded his adoring fans the opportunity of a lifetime to experience Atif Aslam LIVE in concert. The show was nothing short of spectacular. It was a great debut performance for Atif Aslam in South Africa.
