This year in celebration of the journey of 100 years of Indian cinema, International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) Rocks serenaded the tribute to the silver screen’s five vital essentials namely our hero, his heroine and the villain with music and director via a celebration of song and dance route.

The evening was presented by Vir Das and Boman Irani in a true Punjabi style which kept audiences entertained and alive. The IIFA Rocks initiated the technical awards where Anurag Basu’s “Barfi!” took home the greatest awards comprising of Best Screenplay, Cinematography and Make-up among others. “This is my second IIFA award for screenplay. I want to dedicate this award to my better half Tani, who believed in my half-baked script of Barfi. I learnt scriptwriting by watching Salim-Javed’s film” said writer/director Basu while accepting the Best Screenplay award.

When it comes to performances the Ishaqzaade heartthrob Arjun Kapoor’s enactment kicked off with a dare-devil stunt as he entered the stage on a cable to showcase all the façades of an Indian actor namely the die-hard romantic, macho bravado and resilient! Sonu Sood paid homage to the Bollywood bad boys with his debut performance at IIFA while Sophie Choudhry did on hit item numbers from the days of Helen to Kareena Kapoor. Jacqueline Fernandez won hearts in her groovy item dance with amazing moves and sizzling tracks . Diya Mirza took to stage to present the luxurious weddings of Hindi Cinema as she danced her way through wedding masterpieces like ‘Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna’, ‘Chal Pyaar Karegi’ and ‘Tenu Leke Main Jawanga’. Subsequent the high energy dance routines well-known music-composer Pritam  and his troupe with  Arijit Singh, Aditi Singh Sharma and Benny Dayal played on hit numbers like ‘Phir Le Aaya Dil’, ‘Batameez Dil’, ‘Kabira’ and ‘Raabta’ with Te Amo which led to actor Zayed khan giving the crew a standing ovation.

It was a beautiful celebration of Indian Cinema which enthralled audiences that was loved and appreciated by all the stars and guests at the event.
