Mission Majnu Review

Set in 1970s Pakistan, during a covert nuclear weapons test, Mission Majnu follows Amandeep Singh, an Indian spy undercover as Tariq, striving to expose the operation while living with a blind Pakistani wife, Nasreen, and a baby.

Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, the film skillfully maintains the pace, capturing the era’s ambience and suspense. Amandeep’s resourcefulness shines as he navigates danger, although some plot aspects seem too convenient.

Sidharth Malhotra impresses in intense scenes but falters in comic moments. Rashmika Mandanna suits her role, with Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi delivering standout performances. The movie’s focus on Amandeep’s patriotism and ingenuity, paired with adept action, shines without excessive jingoism. Engaging though occasionally formulaic, Mission Majnu resonates more without overanalyzing its details.
