Director, Shakun Batra beautifully deals with human emotion and life choices with finesse along with writers, Ayesha DeVitre and Sumit Roy. Plot. Alisha, a 30-year-old yoga instructor, is working on an app and is struggling to find investors while providing for her unemployed writer boyfriend, Karan with whom she feels suffocated. She also suffers from anxiety after dealing with her mother’s suicide as a child and is estranged from her father. After back to back period dramas, it is great to see Deepika Padukone slip into a contemporary role, she drives this narrative with grace and poise. A star was born from Gully Boy, and Siddhant Chaturvedi shines brightly in this tale of love and lust. After his roles in Uri & 83, Dhairya Karwa delivers a memorable performance while Ananya Panday, the actor has finally arrived, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor are great in their respective supporting roles.
