Beyond the Clouds starts with Amir (Ishaan Khatter), a drug shifter, gets in a ruckus with the local Police. Chasing through the busy streets of Mumbai, Amir runs for his life to his soul sister Tara (Malavika Mohanan). He hands her a packet of drugs in the mess initiating the problem for everyone in the scene. She misplaces it and on the quest of acquiring it back, she gets jailed in the case of an attempted murder. The story is about whether or not she has really killed someone; also it’s about the tenderhearted transformation of ferocious Amir. It’s a journey about two human beings find out the genuine meaning of life.
Ishaan Khatter – I can’t believe this could be a first movie for anyone. Living up to Majidi’s expectations is in itself an achievement for this guy who holds the future of Bollywood in his safe hands. The confidence of performing well roars with this presence. In each and every frame, he knows he’s doing well and that depicts on screen. Watch him in his emotional outburst scene, it’s one of the best to come out from the world cinema.
Malavika Mohanan, mutual feelings, how can someone do so well in their debut film. At first, I had some reservations about her character in the dramatic scenes but as the movie passes by she only becomes stronger. By the end, she emotes her heart out.
All said and done, this is a visual representation of alloyed emotions backed by memorable performances of Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan. Watch this to realise how you can put your life to a better use.
