It is my absolute pleasure to introduce to you, the inaugural digital campaign of the Sunday Times Eastern Bridal Fair. Being the first of its kind for the organisation, I envisioned creating a concept that is unique, graceful and sophisticated yet at the same time captures the essence of modern-day Indian lifestyle. This campaign could have not been possible without the group of incredibly talented individuals who were part of this campaign and brought this vision to life.
Our models; Azghar Khan, Lerisha Munsamy and Saijal Singh each represent diverse aspects of our Indian diaspora yet seamlessly conveyed our vision by unitedly representing contemporary Indian lifestyle with a touch of luxury and sophistication.
Lerisha and Saijal were both dressed by Pretoria-based boutique and atelier – Raj Delhi Couture in elegant shades of Gold and Salmon that perfectly contrasted the traditional brocade-print ethnic red atelier suit worn by Azghar – by dressing our male model in a stylish shade of red and female models in unique colour palettes we welcomed an ironic twist to the orthodox or mainstream Indian bridal concept.
Beyond Belleza by Priyanka Premji is a brand to look out for! Priyanka fashioned luxurious looks with her ingenious technique and trendsetting ideas while Jacky Joseph of Hashtag Hair stylishly completed the look with trendy coiffures. Styling assistant Pavishen Paideya ensured that the models’ look of sophistication was maintained during the shoot and restyled for various elements of the still and film shoot.
Vividly crafted cinematography is the best way to define the way in which, Adhir Mungroo (Bridaltech) and Sahil Maharaj (FilmCo) brought this campaign to life. They are truly brilliant. Shezaad Ally Photography has mastered his craft of capturing elegance with a touch of artistic mastery. He has illustriously shot the still campaign which will be launched with more cinematic campaigns for 17th Annual Sunday Times Eastern Bridal Fair slated to take place between 5 to 6 August 2016 at the Durban Exhibition Centre! We would like to thank and acknowledge the amazing team at aha Royal Palm Hotel (Gateway) for their efficiency and warmth as we brought our vision to life.
