The IIFA 2014 weekend has kicked off from April 23 and continue for four days. The festivities in Tampa Bay will culminate in an awards ceremony which will be held on Saturday and is expected to be attended by Bollywood’s elite and Hollywood actor John Travolta. Two-time Academy Award nominee, two-time Golden Globe award winner and Hollywood actor John Travolta is all set to receive a special honour at the IIFA Awards.
On the third day of the extravaganza April 25, Bollywood will offer its extravagant song-and-dance performances by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Farhan Akthar, Pritam, Bipasha Basu and a special musical act by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Bollywood biggies like Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit, Siddharth Malhotra and Deepika Padukone among others will enthrall their fans and bring down the curtain for the mega award show on April 26th. Besides the performances, the green carpet will be one of the major highlights of the event. Fashion divas like Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, among other, will converge to flaunt their style quotient. This year, IIFA will be hosted by ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ actor Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor. Farhan, who like most of his peers Karan Johar, Vidya Balan, has a great sense of humour. He is a hot favourite this awards season and is indeed one of reasons for IIFA to make headlines.
Bollywood’s reel life love stories will also be a factor to look out for at the IIFA awards. Bollywood’s rumoured lovebirds Deepika-Ranveer, Sonakshi-Shahid, among others will keep our curious eye open to any romance in the air! Most of the Bollywood celebs including Shahid, Sonakshi, Deepika, Kalki, etc have already landed at Tampa Bay, Florida, while some like Shah Rukh Khan will reach after casting their vote in Mumbai’s Lok Sabha polls on April 24.
