This has been a really superb week for Indian Cinema with 3 of the most awaited film trailers releasing simultaneously.
1. Finding Fanny
The first theatrical Trailer of Homi Adajania’s Finding Fanny is out. The film features Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah, Finding Fanny is an English short film that celebrates happiness in the background of Konkani culture. Directed by Homi Adajania of Cocktail and Being Cyrus fame, Finding Fanny is slated to hit theatres on 12th September 2014. In her introductory scene, Deepika Padukone says, “The first time I was kissed was on my wedding day — 15 minutes before my husband choked and died. I’m a virgin.” Arjun Kapoor is Dimple Kapadia’s son who prefers a colouring the picture of her husband so he looks like he is in the “pink of health” at the time of his mourning! Dimple is charming as the old lady who can “portect herself” and is cabaple of finding love, (or so it seems) in Pankaj Kapoor. Naseeruddin Shah wants to find his ‘Fanny’ — Stephanie Fernandes and everyone else joins him on the way. The film is produced by Saif Ali Khan’s Illuminati Films. Produced by Maddock Films Production, the movie is being presented by Fox Star Studios.
2. Haider
It’s finally here! We gave you a preview of the movie posters of ‘Haider’ and now we give you the trailer of the film. Haider is an upcoming Indian drama film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and written by Basharat Peer and Bhardwaj. It is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and is set in Kashmir. Brace yourself for one dark chilly winter! Shahid Kapoor’s Kashmiri avatar will make you want to play that trailer over and over again . Don’t miss the glimpses of Tabu and Shraddha Kapoor in the film. The film’s trailer isn’t a dead giveaway of the movie’s plot, which is a great thing. The film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj is slated to release on October 2, the same day and Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Bang Bang’.
3. Daawat-e-Ishq
The first trailer of Parineeti Chopra-Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer Daawat-e-Ishq is out. Written and directed by Habib Faisal, Daawat-e-Ishq is a romantic drama. National Award-winning director introduces some interesting themes in the first trailer. It talks about bribery and dowry in the same breath. And adds some Hyderabadi spice (Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra) and Lakhnawi style (Aditya Roy Kapur). Aditya plays a cook Tariq Taru Haider who charms one and all with his cullinary skills while Parineeti is a Hyderabadi sales girl who doesn’t believe in love as she has met too many dowry-seeking men. Though Parineeti’s character comes across as repetitive (the charming and bubbly rebel from a humble background), the trailer manages to pique your interest. At one point, we see Aditya presenting a cauliflower to Parineeti while another sequence shows a duel and arm-wrestling between the lead pair.
