Bollywood’s foes-turned-friends Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan shared a warm hug at the Star Guild Awards held in Mumbai on Thursday. What’s up with the award shows this year? Just a few days back we saw Amitabh Bachchan greet Rekha publicly for the first time in years, and now we see Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan continuing their dosti that was revived at an Iftar party last year (see photos of the Iftar party hug).
At Star Guild Awards Salman Khan was the host regaling everyone with his wit and dances. One sniffed an awkward moment in the offing, when Shahrukh Khan won the ‘Best Entertainer of the Year’ award and went on the stage to receive it. Now, Salman being the host was already on the stage. One wondered how the two stars would react coming face-to-face in front of hundreds from the film industry gathered there. What happened next was a priceless moment to capture. Shahrukh and Salman shared a warm hug. And in his award acceptance speech, SRK said, “It feels special to get the award in the company of Salman, one of the greatest entertainers the country has ever seen.” Reciprocating, a visibly joyous Salman asked Shahrukh to yell, “Jai Ho”. SRK happily obliged. May this friendship grow stronger!
